What is a guaranteed way to get discounts while shopping online? We all are not born with oodles of money, so for many people discount shopping has become a way of life. But, how do we get these discounts?

Here are a few different methods people are currently using to get discounts:

Massive Online Searching

Many consumers are simply spending hours upon hours searching various search engines for the best possible deal. Secret shoppers are out there searching for the best deals of the week including computers, TVs, and designer clothing. And, if were lucky, they help to point us average consumers in the right direction to save a few dollars. This method is not bad if you have some time to kill in front of the computer and you really do not mind being patient.

Window Comparison

Then you have consumers who are quite as skilled with the online experience, and they choose to do things the old fashioned way. And, they do that by walking their shoes off. Many consumers find great deals simply by walking from store to store and looking for daily deals, clearance items, and the like. This is not a bad route to go, if you need to get your daily exercise in, being that sometimes you cannot beat face to face bartering and cold hard cash. My only recommendation if you are going to use this method is to leave the kids at home.

Coupons and Special Events

There are also still those penny pinchers that do awfully well just clipping good old fashioned flyers and coupons from their weekly papers. They wait for their weekly event or special where they can double their coupon or save an extra 10% with their department store card and they are on their way. My advice for this consumer is that they always double check their receipt and ensure that the coupon was applied correctly. I have found that in about 75% of these situations there is at least one coupon not applied. And that is a lot of had work down the drain!

In this society there are several different ways to get a good deal, but the process can be difficult. Just keep your eyes open, and you will find that special deal you are looking for.
